D.T. Fleming Beach Park backs up to the Ritz Carlton Kapalua on the west side of Maui. This is a great beach for picnics, surfing, boogie boarding and snorkeling on a calm day.

This beach is located up on the northwest side of Maui.

To get there you take Honoapiilani Highway and turn onto Lower Honoapiilani Road. This is a no outlet road and DT Fleming Beach Park is at the end of this road.

There are two parking lots. The main parking lot for DT Fleming Beach Park is free. The overflow parking lot across the street is paid. The free parking lot opens at 7am. This one fills up fast so you want to get there early.

When we arrived the free parking was all taken so we parked in the paid parking lot.

The parking system had changed since the last time we were in Maui. They now have paid parking using a QR code that you scan with your phone. If you pay the day of it is more expensive than if you pay the day before. The digital parking pass was $29 for the entire day and covers parking at 8 beaches in the area. If you pay the day before it only costs $19. You can pay before by going to https://parklinq.com/#zone-search-section and search for zone 205 and pay. Once you pay, you don't need to pay at the 7 other beaches if you go to them on the same day. If you go on a different day, you have to pay again. This ads up fast, so make sure to pay ahead of time to save some money.

As we were walking to the beach we stopped at Baya Bowls and got some Acai bowls and smoothies. These were delicious and we would highly recommend them.

Then we crossed the street and headed into DT Fleming Beach Park. They have public bathrooms, picnic tables, a rinse-off area, and a lifeguard stand with active lifeguards.

The entrance to the beach is just passed the lifeguard stand. We walked to the far end of the beach because that's where there's a big reef to go snorkeling. You always want to be aware of the conditions in the water, but on a calm day this is a great spot for snorkeling.

After exploring the beach, we put down our towels and decided to get in the water to go snorkeling. As you swim out you can see the large coral reef on the left hand side.

After snorkeling, we got out and enjoyed the sunshine as we dried off. There was a large sea turtle that was resting on the beach. We kept our distance, but it was so cool to see.

Overall, we had a great time at DT Fleming Beach Park. We loved the soft sand, the great snorkeling, and the crystal clear water. We would highly recommend this beach.
