Kapalua Bay Beach, Maui, Hawaii
Blog Post -Ā FebruaryĀ 12, 2026
Kapalua Beach Beach was not only beautiful, but had some of the best snorkeling on the west side of Maui!Ā We saw lots of turtles and an octopus!
This beach is located on the northwest side of Maui
There's a large paid parking lot that works on a scan to pay system. You pay for a full day, which was $29, and it gives you access to park at 8 different beaches for that day. We found out after that you can go to the website and pay the day before to get a discounted price at $19 for the day. We were there in February and the prices change throughout the year. I checked the pricing in June and it showed the same parking at $39. I recommend booking it the day before to get the lower price. You can book it using Zone 200 at https://parklinq.com.
After parking we walked towards the beach. It was really nice that they have public bathrooms and a shower/rinse off area to get the sand and salt water off after a day at the beach.
From the bathroom area, you walk down the steps, go under the bridge, and follow the sidewalk to the beach.
From the sidewalk we went down the stairs to the beach. We laid out our towels and then explored the beach. This is what the beach looks like:
After exploring the beach and laying out we decided to get in the water and start snorkeling.Ā We entered in the middle of the beach and snorkeled over to the right hand side first and then over to the left hand side. We saw sea turtles, an octopus, and lots of different kinds of fish.Ā
After snorkeling we got out, dried off, and laid out in the nice warm sun. We had a great time snorkeling here.
Overall, we had a great time at Kapalua Bay Beach and would definitely come back here again.
