Blog Post - February 10, 2019

While we were visiting Cabo San Lucas, Mexico we decided we wanted to go swim with whale sharks.

We booked our excursion through Cabo Adventures.

Cabo Adventures picked us up from our hotel and took us to their headquarters in Cabo San Lucas. From there we got into one of their vans with our excursion group and traveled to La Paz, Mexico.

It's takes about 2 hours to get to La Paz.

We arrived in La Paz and went to the Cabo Adventures building and got our Wetsuits, fins and snorkel gear to swim with the Whale Sharks.

We headed over to the Marina de La Paz so we could get onto our small boat that would take us out into the Sea of Cortez.

We broke up into groups and boarded our boats.

We headed out to the Sea of Cortez. The whale sharks are not in captivity, so our guide went to the front of the boat looking for whale sharks. It took about 30 minutes of looking to find one.

We spotted our first whale shark and our boat driver took us right by it.

We jumped into the water one by one in groups of 4 and got to swim with this whale shark. They our guide would look for another and we got to do this over and over.

It was so cool to see all the fish that would hang on for the ride with the whale shark.

When we were done, we headed back to the Marina. We had sooo much fun on this excursion!

As part of the excursion, we went out to eat at a restaurant after. Then we headed back to Cabo San Lucas after an amazing day swimming with whale sharks.

Total Cost Breakdown:

2 people: $420

1 Picture Package: $50

Tip for Bus Driver: $5
