CHECKLIST:

These are the checklist items I recommend:

  • Have a full tank of gas as this is really remote.
  • Credit Card for the entrance fee or your National Parks Pass.
  • At least 1 liter of water per person, per hour. We brought 8 liters per person as it took us eight hours to do this hike.
  • Bring extra water and snacks in your car for when you get back. We had drank the last of our water at the very end and were happy to have that waiting for us.
  • Bring food, snacks, and electrolytes and a good hiking backpack.
  • Bring socks and good hiking shoes that you don't mind getting sandy.
  • Bring a hat to keep the sun off of your face.
