We were excited to go to Charley Young Beach Park because we had heard that there was good snorkeling here.

This beach is located on the southwest side of Maui in Kihei.

There's a large free parking lot right next to the beach. We parked there and walked over to the beach.

From the parking lot, we made a right and followed the road down to the beach.

At the end of the street are two trails that you can take to the beach. The first trail is longer and more gradual. The second trail is shorter, but has stairs and rocks at the end that you have to climb down.

Right by the trail entrance is the sign for Charley Young Beach Park. This beach is open from 7am to 8pm.

They also have a shower to rinse off after swimming and snorkeling. There is also one porta potty.

We took the shorter trail down to the beach because this is right by where we wanted to get in to go snorkeling.

Once we got to the beach, we found a place to layout our towels. We saw a really cool sand sculpture of an Aloha Octopus.

Here's another view of where the longer trail comes out, the shorter trail, and where we went snorkeling.

We brought our own snorkeling gear and got into the water. We snorkeled over to the northern end of the beach by the rocks. We saw a few sea turtles and lots of fish.

After snorkeling, we got out and enjoyed the beach. This is a long stretch of beach that connects with Kamaole Beach Park 1.
