Kahekili Beach Park (Airport Beach), Maui, Hawaii
Blog Post -Ā February 15, 2026
Kahekili Beach Park is also known as Airport Beach. This beautiful beach has public parking that is free along with bathrooms and showers. It also has a covered pavilion with picnic tables.
As you walk closer to the beach, there is a large grassy area for picnics or just hanging out.
There is also a trail that runs along the beach with multiple entrances to the beach.
This beach is located on the northwest side of Maui.
FromĀ HonoapiilaniĀ Highway we turned off and drove to the public parking lot.
Due to the parking being free, this lot fills up fast. We went at lunch time and we had to circle a few times waiting for someone to leave. We came back in the evening to watch the sunset and there were plenty of spaces. So either get there early or later in the day to make sure you can get a parking space.
As we walked up we saw that there is a covered pavilion with public bathrooms and picnic tables. There's also a big grassy area with picnic tables.
As we walked towards the beach, we saw this sign that has the history of the airport in the area and why this beach is also called Airport Beach.
You can see from this aerial view that there is a large reef directly in front of the beach that keeps going to the right.
I'm going to take you on a tour of Kahekili Beach so you can see what the beach looks like and what the snorkeling looks like:
We had a great day relaxing, laying out, snorkeling, and exploring this beautiful beach. It was fun to come back in the evening to watch the sunset and enjoy the beach from a different perspective.
Overall, we had a great time at Kahekili Beach Park and would definitely recommend this beach on your next trip to Maui.
