Mala Historic Wharf and Baby Beach, Maui, Hawaii
Blog Post -Â February 16, 2026
The Mala Historic Wharf and Baby Beach are located on the northwest side of Maui, Hawaii.
We parked in the free parking section by the Mala Boat Ramp on Unahiole Street. We parked here because it's the closest parking to the Wharf.
If the parking on Unahiole Street is full, you can also park on Ala Moana Street, but you'll have to walk farther to get to the wharf for snorkeling. Either way, both are pretty close.
The water going out to the Mala Historic Wharf is pretty shallow, but I was able to snorkel the whole way out. I did see some people with water shoes walking through the shallow water and then putting on their fins in the deeper water.
You can see from this aerial view that the old wharf wreckage goes out really far from the existing wharf. You can see the boat that brings people to snorkel here. I explored this whole area and this is what it looked like:
After snorkeling, we got out and laid out on our beach towels and let the sun dry us off. After relaxing and warming up, it felt so good to get in the water to cool off. We also walked Baby Beach and this is what it looked like:
Overall, we had a great time snorkeling at the Mala Historic Wharf and exploring Baby Beach. We would highly recommend going here to snorkel as it was one of our favorite places to snorkel on all of Maui.
