Blog Post - April 7, 2021

Sugar Beach is located on the north side of St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands. It is right next to Christiansted.

We stayed at the Sugar Beach Condos in Unit 207 and absolutely loved it. We rented this unit through VRBO.com.

This small community has a beautiful beach that is located right off of Long Reef. It also has a community pool and tennis courts and is in close proximity to a grocery store and some fast food restaurants.

Our unit had 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a full kitchen. It also had a balcony that overlooked the ocean. We loved eating breakfast and dinner on the balcony and enjoyed the cool breeze coming off the ocean.

We loved our trip to St. Croix and this unit made it even more enjoyable.

Here are some pics of the views, amenities, and the condo:

It was nice to have a full size washer and dryer to do laundry during the week.

It was also really nice to have a kitchen to cook our meals. This always saves a lot of money on a fun trip.

Here's a view of the master bedroom. The only drawback are the closet doors to enter the bedroom. It gives you visual privacy, but you can hear everything from the bedroom through those doors.

Overall, we had a great time at the Sugar Beach Condos. We would definitely stay there again. It's close to Christiansted and was a great home base to go exploring St. Croix.

PRICING:

We rented this condo through VRBO.com

I really wanted to stay at the Sugar Beach Condos, but I waited too long to book and ended getting the most expensive unit in the building.

I also made the mistake of booking an extra day. I didn't realize that it was a day of travel and we didn't need it till April 7th. I contacted them, but they didn't refund the day we didn't use.

Also, the additional guest fee was for having more than two people, which didn't make sense for a 2 bedroom unit.

The total came to $3,102.74.

In my opinion this was too expensive, but I was willing to pay it for the experience of being right on the beach and on a reef.

The unit I was going to book was in the Sugar Beach Condos too, but I waited too long to book and was taken was $2,200 for the same amount of time.

The moral of the story is to book early and double check your dates.

You can always earn more money, but you can't get back your time so even though it was expensive, the memories we have of this family vacation is priceless!

Total cost: $3,102.74
