The Best Snorkeling Mask: My Review of the Oceanways Superview/HD Anti-Fog Mask

We’ve all been there: you’re in the middle of a beautiful reef, surrounded by fish, and suddenly your world turns into a blurry and foggy mess. You spend more time clearing fog out of your mask than actually snorkeling.

After dealing with that frustration one too many times, I switched to the Oceanways Superview-HD Anti-Fog Mask. It makes some bold claims about high-definition vision and anti-fog technology, so I put it to the test by snorkeling with it in Curacao, The Exumas, and The Big Island of Hawaii.

Here is why this mask has become my go-to for underwater adventures.

The "HD" Difference

The "HD" in the name isn't just marketing fluff. This mask uses what they call SeeSharp Technology. Unlike standard tempered glass which can have a greenish tint that distorts colors, this lens is designed to:

  • Define faint edges: Everything looks sharper and crisper.
  • Reduce Glare & UV: It has an optical multicoating that protects your eyes and cuts down on surface glare.
  • Enhance Light: It actually brightens your field of view, making it perfect for deeper dives or overcast days.

True Anti-Fog Technology

This is the feature everyone asks about. Most masks require you to scrub them with toothpaste or buy expensive gels to stop fogging. The Oceanways Superview-HD features a built-in anti-fog coating on the inside of the lens. It resists fogging significantly better than standard masks right out of the box, keeping your view crystal clear without the constant maintenance.

Comfort & Field of View

The mask features a single-lens teardrop design. Because there is no plastic frame bridge in the middle of your eyes, your peripheral vision is huge, and looking down (to check your gear or see a fish below you) is unobstructed.

The skirt is made from a "super soft" silicone that seals easily against the face. I found it created a watertight seal without me having to over-tighten the strap, which means no leaking and no "ring around the face" after a swim.

 Is It Worth It?

If you are tired of renting scratched, leaky gear or struggling with a foggy mask, this is a fantastic upgrade. The clarity alone is worth the price, but the fact that it is comfortable and doesn't leak water definitely makes it worth it. I highly recommend this mask. I've even bought one for each member of my family.
