Galliot Cay Beach, Long Island, Bahamas
Blog Post - November 7, 2025
Galliot Cay Beach is a beautiful beach with soft white sand and turquoise blue water located on the northeast side of Long Island in the Bahamas.
From the Queen's Highway you turn off onto a dirt road to get there. You'll cross a concrete bridge.
You'll come to a T in the road. On the right you'll see a sign for the Cape Santa Maria Beach Resort and Villas. On the left you'll see the entrance to the Galliot Cay Residences neighborhood. You'll turn left and follow that dirt road.
We followed the dirt road down to the entrance of Galliot Cay Beach. We made a right hand turn and followed that short dirt road to the beach.
When we pulled up into the parking lot, there was only one other car there. It felt like we had the beach all to ourselves. The parking lot is dirt, but is free to park in. We got out of our Jeep and started to explore. There is a wood boardwalk that connects a bunch of covered pavilions that have picnic benches and some hammocks.
We had a great time laying out and swimming at this beach. We did try snorkeling and the water is clear, but because there is no reef we didn't see any fish. It was clear water and sand. This beach also has a long stretch that is great for a long walk. This is what it looked like.
Overall, we had a great time at Galliot Cay Beach. We loved how soft the sand was and it was nice to cool off in the turquoise water. We would definitely go here again.

CHECKLIST:
These are the checklist items I recommend:
- There are no bathrooms, so plan accordingly.
- Bring some snacks/food and water. There are covered pavilions where you can eat and relax.
- Bring a hat.
- Bring sunglasses.
- Bring reef safe sunscreen.
- You can bring your own snorkeling gear, but there is no reef here so there's not much to see but sand.
