Galloway Landing, Long Island, Bahamas
Blog Post - November 13, 2025
Galloway Landing is a remote beach on the southwest side of Long Island in the Bahamas.
When we first turned off the Queen's Highway the road was paved. That didn't last very long and the road turned into a dirt road.
The day that we went, there was a lot of standing water on the road from the rain.
We highly recommend driving a 4-wheel drive vehicle when going to Galloway Landing.
When you're almost there, you'll cross two wood bridges.
Then you'll come to an intersection. If you go straight, that will take you to Galloway Landing.
We explored down the road and found that the dirt road turned into a deep sandy road. We decided not to chance getting stuck as we were driving a Jeep, but didn't have the equipment to air down our tires. We parked at the intersection and walked the short walk to the beach.
As we walked out onto the beach we were blown away with the beautiful turquoise water and the soft sand.
We decided to go left and explore the southern end of the beach first. There were some rock outcroppings that we wanted to snorkel and swim around.
The water was great for swimming, but we didn't see any fish snorkeling. (Just rocks)
After swimming and snorkeling we decided to walk and explore the northern end of the beach. This is what it looked like.
Overall, we had a great time at Galloway Landing. We had the beach all to ourselves and we would definitely go back.

- Bring reef safe sunscreen.
- A Jeep, truck, or SUV is recommended for this dirt road. We didn't use our 4-wheel drive, but there was a lot of standing water on the day that we went.
