Gordon's Beach is a must visit on your next trip to Long Island in the Bahamas.

It is the southernmost beach and has turquoise water, a sandbar, soft sand, free bathrooms, and a great restaurant.

From the Queen's Highway we turned right onto the short dirt road that takes you to Gordon's Beach.

We saw the welcome sign to Gordon's Beach Bar and Grill.

We drove the short dirt road that is surrounded by water and found a parking spot at Gordon's Beach.

They also have free public bathrooms. This was great as there aren't many facilities on the southern end of Long Island.

After parking we got out and started to explore. We saw that they have beach chairs and umbrellas so we went inside the restaurant to see how much they cost. The owner told us that he wouldn't charge us anything if we were going to eat at the restaurant. We let him know that we were going to explore first and then eat.

We went outside and picked two beach chairs and 1 umbrella. We set down our things and decided to explore the southern end of the beach first. The southern end has a small sandbar.

This is what the sandbar on the southern end looked like. We could also see a shipwreck from the sandbar.

After exploring the sandbar, we headed back north along the beach.

We decided to get in the water and cool off and do some swimming. We also tried snorkeling here, but there wasn't much to see and the visibility was low.

After swimming and snorkeling, we walked the northern end of the beach. This is what it looked like.

After exploring we were hungry so we went into Gordon's Beach Bar and Grill to get some lunch. I got the chicken with fries and plantains and Julie got the Grouper with fries. The food was delicious.
