Newton's Cay Beach, Long Island, Bahamas
Blog Post - November 7, 2025
Newton's Cay Beach is a remote beach located on the northeast side of Long Island in the Bahamas.
The road is paved to get there. When you pull up there is a nice paved parking lot.
There is a nice bridge that was rebuilt in 2020. This is the bridge we crossed to go to Newton's Cay Beach.
The hike to Newton's Cay Beach is only 0.14 miles. You cross the bridge and then follow the maintained trail to the beach.
This is what the trail looks like. They even have steps going up the hill and going down.
Where the marked trail ends, you veer to your right and there is the beach. We had to go under a few trees and over some seaweed, but it wasn't too bad.
As we walked out onto the beach we could see that the water was really shallow with seagrass. There were lots of little fish swimming around. I recommend wearing water shoes here. I was walking barefoot and a little crab bit my toe. It only bled a little, but hurt enough that I would wear water shoes for sure next time.
Overall, we had a great time exploring this beach. Next time we want to bring a kayak or paddle board to go out into the bay. We will also bring water shoes next time too.
